I specialise in the social, legal and ethical aspects of computer and communication technology. From January to September 2007 I visited <a title=\"Meiji University\" href=\"http:\/\/www.meiji.ac.jp\/\" target=\"_blank\">Meiji University<\/a> in Tokyo, funded by the <a title=\"Royal Academy of Engineering\" href=\"http:\/\/www.raeng.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Royal Academy of Engineering<\/a> in the UK, Meiji University and the University of Reading, to perform a study of attitudes to privacy. I continue to work with researchers in Japan on this and related topics and visit Japan regularly.<\/p>\n<p>I was also a committee member of <a title=\"Nippon 2007\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nippon2007.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nippon 2007<\/a>, the 65th World Science Fiction Convention, held in Yokohama from the 30th August to the 3rd of September 2007.<\/p>\n<p>This blog contains a personal travelogue of my visits to Japan (category <a title=\"Japan\" href=\"http:\/\/a-cubed.info\/blog\/?cat=2\">Japan<\/a>), professional musings on general social, legal and ethical implications of computer and communication technology (category <a title=\"SLE\" href=\"http:\/\/a-cubed.info\/blog\/?cat=5\">SLE<\/a>) and generaly musings on life.
